Police Respond to Bomb Threat at 2 Mechanicsville Kroger Stores

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (WRIC) - According to the Hanover Sheriff's Office, two separate Kroger grocery stores in Mechanicsville were evacuated Thursday afternoon due to bomb threats.

The first incident was reported at approximately 3 p.m. at the Kroger located in the 6300 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike.  The second incident was reported at approximately 3:15 p.m. at the Kroger in the 9300 block of Atlee Road. The bomb threats were received by phone by a Kroger employee at each store, who then reported it to the Sheriff's Office. 

Security sweeps with bom detecting K-9s found nothing suspicious was found at either location.  Kroger management has re-opened both stores.  Investigators remain on-scene and the investigation into these incidents is ongoing.
