The 8News StormTracker weather team is closely monitoring a series of thunderstorms that looks to hit Central Virginia on Thursday afternoon.
Locally dense fog will cover much of the 8News viewing area Thursday morning; as that burns off, clouds will increase, and rain and thunderstorms will follow in the afternoon. It will be a very warm, humid day, with highs in the middle 80s. Skies will become partly cloudy Thursday night and it will be muggy, with lows in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
Friday will be another partly sunny, hot and humid day with afternoon thunderstorms. High temperatures will top out near 90 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday will be partly sunny, with highs in the upper 80s. The heat and humidity will build back in next week, with highs around 90 degrees each day under partly sunny skies. _________________________
