Man Robs Richmond Gas Station, Returns to Panhandle

The Richmond Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a man who robbed a gas station convenience store last week and was later seen panhandling in the same area. The Richmond Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a man who robbed a gas station convenience store last week and was later seen panhandling in the same area.

Around 11 p.m. on Monday, June 2 the suspect walked into the Exxon gas station convenience store at 7100 Patterson Ave. and robbed the business. The same man was then seen panhandling in the area for several days after the robbery. Police say there are no surveillance images available of the incident.

The suspect is a white male who is 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall. He weighs roughly 180 to 200 pounds and is in his mid- to late 40s. The suspect had salt-and-pepper hair, a mustache and may now have a scraggly beard. He was last seen wearing green sweatpants, a gray Mt Bike baseball cap and sunglasses. He may be a homeless man whose name is Ray.
