RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - The Children's Museum of Richmond and Virginia 529 are teaming up for the 2014 College Tuition Raffle. The winning ticket will be drawn June 30, with the owner receiving an eight semester tuition contract.

Raffle tickets can be purchased: 1 for $45, 2 for $80, 5 for $180 or 10 for $300. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit CMoR's free and reduced price admission program.

This is the second year for this raffle. "We sold more than 3,000 tickets last year, so I think it is safe to say the community was behind the effort. Odds of one in 3,000 are excellent for a prize worth about $60,000," says Karen Coltrane, CMoR's President and CEO. "And we love the idea of giving one child a fully paid college education while making Children's Museum visits possible for thousands who couldn't otherwise afford it."

Virginia 529 CEO Mary Morris adds, "What a great prize for the lucky winner - a full four years of tuition and mandatory fees covered at any Virginia public university. The value of the eight semester tuition contract will vary based on the age of the named recipient but will be between $57,000 and $61,400."

Tickets are available at all four Children's Museum of Richmond locations through June 29 and online.
