HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -
Henrico County Public Schools are asking for feedback from parents on next year's code of conduct; one of the proposed changes is raising a few eyebrows.
The revised code of conduct would add yoga pants to a list of clothing that students aren't allowed to wear at school. This would enact a new standard of appropriate dress attire in the school system.
According Andy Jenks, spokesperson for Henrico County Schools, the new policy language was added to keep the application of the dress code consistent county wide. Currently some schools may allow yoga pants, but in other schools they may not be allowed depending on varying interpretations of the existing code. The new language in the code of conduct is an attempt to make the rules the same across the county.
