Richmond Police Welcomes New K-9 Graduates

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Say hello to the newest members of the Richmond Police Department.

These dogs graduated from K-9 training classes Friday morning after a 14-week course. The training included obedience, tracking, building searches, detection work as well as bonding with each other.

"We actually have to work together as a team," says Officer Wesley Moore. "I have to control everything the dogs do. The dog has to listen to me, and if he doesn't listen we are not working well as a team. Everything is me and the dog together it's a team."

Next month, Sergeant Michael Bohannon will graduate from the same training with his partner, K-9 Astro.
