According to police, 22 Virginia teens were arrested over the weekend near Myrtle Beach; 11 of them are from central Virginia.
Nearly two dozens teens from various vicinities of Virginia were arrested and charged on June 21, including New Kent, Montpelier, Quinton, Colonial Heights, Williamsburg and other localities.
Most of the charges were for underage purchasing of alcoholic beverages, consumption of alcohol by a minor or possession of alcohol by a minor, according to the Horry County Sheriff's Office website.
Because some of the teens are minors, 8News will not release their names or booking mug shots.
An incident report from North Myrtle Beach Police states that an officer spotted a pickup truck carrying 13 people in its bed. The officer "could see open containers in the hands of several individuals and open cases of Budlight in the back of the truck."
In addition, an open case of beer and a beer bong were discovered in the cab of the truck.
We will continue checking in with the Horry County Sheriff's Office for additional information and details. Stay with 8News on air and online for updates.
