RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -

An explosion rattled 5th Street late Wednesday night, sending three manhole covers flying into the air.

Broad Street was shut down from 2nd to 7th Streets for most of the night due to the explosions. It reopened  Thursday morning in time for rush hour traffic.

The cause of the explosion was apparently an electrical issue.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the explosion.
