Man Arrested, Charged in Deadly Amelia House Party Shooting

AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) - - A man has been arrested and charged in connection to a deadly shooting at an Amelia County house party on July 6.

Anthony Crawley was arrested Friday in connection to the deadly crime. Crawley is facing a variety of charges, including first-degree murder. 

On the morning of July 7 at about 12:15 a.m., the Amelia County Sheriff's office received a 911 call about a shooting that had occurred in the 7000 block of Cheathams Rd.

The victim, identified as 21-year-old De'aris Lewis of Prince Edward, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Chesterfield where he was pronounced dead. 

Crawley is currently behind bars without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
