Houston Restaurant Weeks Runs August 1 - September 1, 2014
HOUSTON, July 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Houston Restaurant Weeks (HoustonRestaurantWeeks.com), the largest single annual fundraiser for the largest food bank in the nation, announced today the committed 2014 participants. The highly anticipated month-long food odyssey, benefiting the Houston Food Bank, returns with the city's top restaurants starting August 1, running through September 1.
Starting on July 15, 2014, diners can access a growing list of participating restaurants and their respective Houston Restaurant Weeks menus at www.HoustonRestaurantWeeks.com. Reservations are required for diners seeking to take advantage of Houston Restaurant Weeks menus. However, many participating restaurants will accept walk-ins, at their discretion.
Founded in 2003 by Cleverley Stone, Houston Restaurant Weeks has raised over $4.3 million for the Houston Food Bank. This has enabled the Food Bank to provide almost 13 million meals for Houstonians who are food insecure. The largest restaurant weeks of its kind in the United States, Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest annual fundraising event for the Houston Food Bank, which is the largest food bank in the nation.
Houston Restaurant Weeks is run by volunteers and 100 percent of the donations raised from area restaurants go directly to the Food Bank. For 32 days, diners will enjoy specially priced multi-course prix-fixe menus at $20 for lunch, $25 for brunch, and $35 and $45 for dinner. A $20 lunch generates a $3 donation from the participating restaurants to the Houston Food Bank; a $25 brunch generates a $4 donation; a $35 dinner generates a $5 donation; and a $45 dinner generates a $7 donation. Participating restaurants make donations to the Food Bank based upon their HRW sales.
