RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Randy Taylor, the man convicted of abducting and killing Nelson County teenager Alexis Murphy, was given two life sentences in her death on Wednesday.

Jurors recommended two life sentences for Taylor;the presiding judge upheld that decision.

Randy Taylor's attorney told the court that Taylor maintains his innocence, but would agree to give information about where the girl's body could be found in return for a 20 year sentence. The Commonwealth, judge and Murphy's family did not accept that.

Alexis Murphy's family told the court they are "not willing to negotiate with a murderer."

Taylor, 48, was found guilty back in May on three counts, including first-degree murder.

Wednesday's sentencing began at 3:30 p.m.; the sentence was handed down around 4:30 p.m.
