UPDATE: Former Chesterfield Supervisor Hit, Injured On Beach Road

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) - Police are investigating after a driver hit a pedestrian in Chesterfield County Sunday evening. The victim has been identified as a former Chesterfield County supervisor.

Police got the call for a hit pedestrian around 9:15 p.m. Sunday on Beach Road in Chesterfield. The pedestrian who was struck, Renny Humphrey, is a former Chesterfield County supervisor.

Humphrey was taken to the hospital, where she remains in serious condition.

Chesterfield County's Deputy Administrator for Human  Services Sarah Snead released the following statement Monday morning:

"Everyone at the county is very concerned about Ms. Humphrey's accident and our thoughts are with her and her family during this difficult time. We certainly wish her well and hope for her speedy recovery."

Police have not revealed if the driver involved will face any charges.
