New Charity Calendar Attempts To Promote The Empowerment Of Women

“The Ladies of Power calendar includes a variety of different women between ages 19 and 55. It also includes women of color, LGBT, trans*, maternity, curvy voluptuous women — generally truly beautiful women you tend to not always see featured in calendars, especially ones involving cosplayers.”
The Ladies of Power calendar is a project that attempts to use strength, beauty and sexuality to promote the empowerment of women while raising money for charity.

Texas, United States: Though at first glance this cosplay based publication shows it’s less serious and lighter side, the Ladies of Power 12 month calendar is being made to serve two much more serious purposes. The first goal the manufacturers have is to promote the empowerment of all women. They will do this by having a huge variety of women model for the various months of the year. Models come from a wide spectrum ages, ethnicities, races and sizes. The calendar also showcases pregnant women and members of the LGBT community. The second goal that the creators are looking to achieve is to raise as much money as possible for a charitable organization in need.

“This calendar includes a variety of different women between ages 19 and 55. It also includes women of color, LGBT, trans*, maternity, curvy voluptuous women – generally truly beautiful women you tend to not always see featured in calendars, especially ones involving cosplayers,” says a representative from the project.

Any and all profits which are made from the sales of the Ladies of Power calendar will be donated to the Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, Texas. This shelter helps many women and children who are in desperate need due to addiction, poverty and even abuse. The funds that are raised will help Genesis finance shelter, pay for food and clothing, provide the women with access to phones and the internet, schooling for the children, medical assistance for both mother and child, help with finding a job and much, much more. The creators of this calendar plan on selling it for a $10 profit, so a significant amount of money can be raised with just a small amount of sales.

A representative involved with the project was quoted as saying, “We plan on selling the calendars for $10 on location (at the studio or at a convention table) and $15 online to cover shipping and handling. This means if all 250 copies are sold the Shelter will receive at least $2,500.”

Though the founder of the project was initially planning on paying for the production of the calendars out of pocket, an unexpected life event has now made that impossible. They are looking for help in order to raise the funds that will be needed to finish the publication of the calendars so that they can begin selling them and raising money. They are attempting to raise the required funds, $1,250.00, through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. Like many others in similar situations, the creators of the Ladies of Power calendar are offering a wide variety of perks to anyone who chooses to help them raise the funds that they need.
