The Richmond Flying Squirrels are into the playoffs after defeating Altoona 5-4!
After leading the Altoona Curve by as many as four runs, the Curve were able to score three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pressure the Squirrels.
Hunter Strickland came into the ninth to record the save and send the Squirrels into September baseball for the second time in the club's history.
Starter Jack Snodgrass (11-6) went seven full inning only letting up one earned run on four hits.
For the Squirrels to solidify their spot, they needed the Bowie Baysox to drop their game with the Erie Seawolves, which they did 10-7.
The Squirrels have seven games left on the season and continue to fight for first place in the Western Division of the Eastern League.
