Sports Anchor/Reporter
WRIC 8 News is looking for a Sports Anchor/Reporter who can do it all – anchor, write, produce, shoot and edit. The ideal candidate is passionate about local sports and news. We’re looking for someone who can produce an innovative sportscast with broad appeal. Must be a strong writer with a great eye, creative editing skills and understand the value of pictures and natural sound. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure. Must be a good communicator and work well with others. The successful candidate must be able to master Edius editing system and shooting on Panasonic P2. A minimum of 3 years experience is required. Assignment Editor
WRIC 8 News is looking for an assignment editor who will set and lead the day with our managing editor and take our coverage to the next level. Monitoring scanners, answering phone calls, coordinating logistics and dispatching crews are just the basics. The ideal candidate must be passionate about news and want to win. This person must also have a proven track record of building strong relationships and enterprising stories. Participate and lead editorial meetings. Meet deadlines under pressure. Anchor/Reporter
Anchor/Reporter who brings energy, warmth, confidence and credibility to the anchor desk. The ideal candidate has the ability to think on the fly and handle breaking news. The anchor/reporter must have high journalistic standards and a passion for news. Strong writing skills are essential. We are looking for someone who can report live with confidence. Understand the value of using pictures, natural sound and graphics to illustrate a story. Build sources, generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings. Meet deadlines under pressure. Account Executive

WRIC is looking for an experienced energetic self starter with good presentation skills to join our sales team. Extensive training and support will be provided. The successful candidate will have the motivation and desire to be the best and will be willing to develop new business and work in a challenging fast paced environment. WRIC 8 News is looking for a Reporter/Video Journalist who is passionate about great storytelling. The ideal candidate must be an aggressive reporter with high journalistic standards. Must be a strong writer with a great eye, creative editing skills and understand the value of pictures and natural sound. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure. Must be a good communicator and work well with others. News Producer

WRIC 8 News is looking for an aggressive, innovative and creative News Producer to help take our product to the next level. The top candidate is an excellent writer who has a passion for news, solid editorial judgment and the ability to handle breaking news and weather. This person knows how to produce compelling and informative newscasts that make an impact with an audience on-air, online and on social media. No show stackers here. Think outside the box. Seek different ways to make your newscast unique. You must be creative and a strategic thinker. The ideal candidate should be well informed about current events. Internship Opportunities
We only offer internships to college students who need the internship for a grade or course.  
Deadline for Fall internships: July 10th.
Deadline for Spring internships: November 28th.
Deadline for Summer internships: April 4th.

The following is needed for internship consideration:  
--Resume.
--One-page paper, double-spaced explaining why the student wants this internship and what they hope to learn.  Include the department/career of interest such as news (producing, photography, reporting), production, sports, graphics, weather; and specify the semester needed (Fall, Spring or Summer).
--Confirmation email from an advisor, dean or registrar's office saying the internship is needed for the student's grade/course.  Include how many credit hours are needed.  (This varies with each student and school.)
**Without all three documents, student will not be considered for an internship**
