WRIC TV does not accept waivers directly from satellite subscribers. If a waiver is needed for an ABC distant network feed it must be submitted via the satellite vendor such as Dish Network or DirecTv. In December 1999, Congress amended the original Satellite Home Viewers Act which made the satellite vendors the middleman in the waiver process. Once the vendor submits the waiver in your behalf the station has 30 days in which to render a decision of grant or denial. If the waiver is not acted upon within that 30-day period it becomes an automatic grant for the subscriber. If the subscriber receives a letter of denial then he/she can e-mail the station with their name, address, and reason which they are not able to receive WRIC TV on a conventional antenna. Please use the following e-mail for that purpose: mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org
. We will review each waiver challenge individually.
