WRIC TV is on air twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week with ABC HD passthrough during primetime when available and on special sporting events. At this time 8-1 is carried by Comcast on Channel 210 and Verizon's new FIOS television network on Channel 808.
If you have purchased a digital settop converter box, make sure that you do a auto channel scan in order to find all the digital channels available to you over the air. Many people have made the mistake by tuning their converters to the analog channels to pick up the digital channels which WILL NOT WORK! You have to either do a channel scan and let the box find the channels or enter each digital channel in manually. For WRIC our RF channel for the digital channel is 22. When the box finds the channel it will relabel it as 8.1. One key component to receiving a successful signal from any broadcaster is picking the correct antenna depending on your location and situation. There is not really a one antenna fits all unfortunately. Another issue is for people who reside near any of the broadcast towers and using amplified antennas. This will create what is called multipathing possible by overamplfying the signal and overdriving your settop converter box or HD TV Reciever.
WRIC TV now has a secondary channel available to all viewers as 8-2 debuting "The Country Network" which is a 24/7 music video channel with childrens programming from 7am-10am each Saturday morning. In order to receive this channel you will need to do a new channel scan on your converter. This will allow you to see both the 8-1 and 8-2 channels after the scan completes.
