Making news in the General Assembly today is the bill that would change virginia's amber alert guidelines is set to be discussed.
It's named after Midlothian High School student Chip Ellis, who was killed last year after being carjacked by a classmate.
The bill would allow 18-year olds who are still in high school to be included in statewide alerts.
Currently, alerts are only issued for those 17 and under.
