People migrated to the United States from all of the Spanish-speaking countries in Central and South America. Some came many generations ago; others are more newly arrived.
To compile this collection of brief profiles, which shows the diverse fields in which Hispanic-American migrants have excelled, we tried to find individuals who emigrated from many different countries in Spanish-speaking America. The list is representative; we know it is not complete, and that there are many others who could be included.
