It feels more like autumn than the later part of spring across central Virginia this morning! Temperatures have dropped off into the mid to lower 40s in most places; definitely grab the jacket heading out the door this morning! High pressure will continue to build into our region during the day today, what does this mean for us? Sunshine, and lots of it all throughout the holiday weekend. Temperatures won't be feeling very summer-like even though it is the ‘unofficial' start to the summer season. Highs today will top out only right around 70 degrees and with a breeze gusting to as high as 30 mph out of the northwest conditions could feel very chilly at times. Sunshine continues into Sunday and temperatures will climb a few degrees higher in the mid-70s. The Memorial Day holiday on Monday is looking very nice, partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures much more comfortable in the upper 70s. Summer heat returns to the region by mid-week as high pressure slides offshore and we see our winds change up to out of the southwest, highs on Thursday will likely top 90 degrees! Have a great holiday weekend!
