This Sunday we are still dealing with the effects of a nearly stationary front now positioned to our south over North Carolina. Due to its location, we here in central Virginia are situated on the ‘cooler' side of things with temperatures remaining in the lower to mid-70s. That front has also been acting as the catalyst or lifting mechanism for the enhancement of showers and some isolated rumbles of thunder, expect that to continue once again today. A gradual push northwards and eventual set up to our north will allow temperatures to rise into the mid to upper 80s by Tuesday. For your Sunday expect very similar weather to yesterday, cloudy skies with intermittent rain showers and temperatures staying in the mid-70s. The same pattern holds for Monday with scattered rain showers but a bit warmer near 80. The front lifts north of us by Monday evening and the warmer air gushes in, highs Tuesday into the mid to upper 80s. Sunshine will return at times by Tuesday afternoon but we will run the risk for a shower or thunderstorm each afternoon right through the week. Have a great day!
