Alonzo Small joined the 8News as a nightside assignment desk editor in December 2017.
Before coming to Richmond, he worked as a breaking news reporter for The News Journal in New Castle County, Delaware.
Prior to his time in Delaware, Alonzo studied print and broadcast journalism at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and Tidewater Community College. He also served four years in the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist onboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65).
Alonzo is happy to be back in the Richmond area and in his free time enjoys catching up with friends and family, running, going to the gym and traveling.
