Annie Gallo joined 8News as a news producer in September 2022.
Born and raised in Chesterfield, Annie is a graduate of Manchester High School. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019, majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Sociology.
Prior to her role as a producer, Annie was freelancing full-time as a photographer, writer, publicist and social media manager. Her writing background consists of working with local publications like WYDaily.com covering Yorktown and music blogs. She has reported on a wide variety of topics including history, politics, community events, cannabis, human interest and more.
In addition to writing about local news, Annie has written concert reviews and interviewed celebrities like Grammy nominated Lil Yachty.
She spent a year in Los Angeles to get a taste of the west coast where she started her photography career capturing shots of celebrities like Wiz Khalifa.
She continues to book photography gigs, shooting concerts, people and events when she has the time.
When she is not producing, she is either at a concert, watching the sunset, taking photos of nature, painting or writing poetry. She is a passionate advocate for mental health, criminal justice reform, human rights and the LGBTQIA community.
