Cheyenne was born and raised in the central Florida area. She loves to tell stories and knew very early on in life she was going to be a journalist.
She graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications in December 2020. She also interned at the ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa and anchored/reported a news brief called “Florida Focus” for the PBS affiliate in Tampa.
She received the Best Online Story award at the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists 2020 Griot Drum Award ceremony for a project she worked on about the first Black mayor of Sarasota.
