Kassidy Hammond joined WRIC 8News in November 2021 as a Digital Content Producer. After a year of writing successful top content for wric.com, she has taken on a new role as the Digital Distribution Producer.
Kassidy is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
During her time at VCU, Kassidy produced and edited a mini-documentary, “Stuck In Stone” – a film that takes a deep dive into the history behind the statues on Monument Avenue. The documentary won two first-place awards in the 2019 Poe Film Festival: Best Documentary and Best College Film.
Kassidy has since continued creating within the digital world, as a photographer at Richmond Fashion Week, and by running her own drone photography business.
Kassidy is from a small town located in Central Virginia and loves exploring all the city has to offer. On her days off you can find her outside at the park with her pup, Maya, or enjoying any of the many festivals Richmond hosts year-round.
