Keyris Manzanares

Keyris joined WRIC-TV in April 2019 as a Digital Content Producer.

She was born in Arlington, Virginia and raised in Falls Church. Her family is from El Salvador.

Keyris is a bilingual journalist who is passionate about covering the news that affects the local Hispanic community. That’s why she started a new digital initiative to bring important news to Richmond’s growing Hispanic population — “Hoy en RVA.”

Keyris is a proud alumna of Virginia Commonwealth University where she studied Mass Communications-Broadcast Journalism. Go Rams!

During her time at VCU, she wrote for The Commonwealth Times, interned at Richmond Magazine, reported and anchored for VCU Insight that airs on Richmond PBS.

She got her start in TV news when she was honored with the Dayle Dunn memorial minority internship at WTVR-TV CBS 6. She then went on to intern at WWBT-TV NBC 12.

Keyris is published in the Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly for her research regarding solutions journalism. She presented at the 2017 Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication conference.

When she is not at work, Keyris enjoys the KAZAXE live stream dance class or running at Byrd Park. She loves making Instagram cooking videos on her page “KeyrisKitchen,” hanging out with family or watching documentaries.

If you see Keyris around the city make sure to say hey but beware she asks way too many questions.
