Nicole McMullin is the Assistant News Director at WRIC ABC 8News and was previously the station’s Digital Executive Producer and Content Manager. She joined the 8News team in March 2020 after a 15-year career in publishing, digital media and marketing.
Nicole is a member of the 2021 class of the Virginia Association of Broadcasters Best of the Best Leadership Program. In 2011, she was named one of the “25 Under 35” working in media by Editor & Publisher magazine. She has also received honors from the Virginia Press Association for multimedia storytelling and marketing and is a past president of the Virginia Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
She earned an Executive MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Virginia Union University.
Nicole’s favorite thing to do outside of the office is to unplug from her devices and spend time outside kayaking with her family. If a river isn’t available, she’ll happily ride her bike.
She lives in Chesterfield County with her husband, daughter and rescue dog (who unfortunately doesn’t like water).
