Adopt a Furry Friend: Trelawney

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Meet our furry friend of the week, Trelawney.

This perfect lady is 7-years-old and weighs 83 pounds.

While she has been in the care of the Richmond SPCA, Trelawney has been spayed, had several growths removed and had radiographs of her hips and knees.

Trelawney has hip dysplasia and arthritis, which are commonly seen in giant breeds. She has also been working with the Richmond SPCA’s trainers to help her better acclimate to a home. They recommend that she be the only dog in an adult only home.

Trelawney is a sweet, mature lady who hasn't always known the love of a good home. Despite this, she's friendly and smart, and she loves the feel of the sunshine on her face. All she wants is to be loved, the Richmond SPCA says.

Trelawney is also the model for the Richmond SPCA’s Progressive Dinner raffle. She’s modeling a Konstantino bracelet, courtesy of Schwarzschild Jewelers. All funds raised by this year's Progressive Dinner will benefit the homeless animals in the care of the Richmond SPCA.

If you're interested in adopting Trelawney, call the Richmond SPCA's adoption hotline at 804-521-1307 or visit their shelter located at Hermitage Road.
