HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Parents, are you frustrated trying to stay on top of your child’s social media posts, texts and snaps? You aren’t alone! Henrico County wants to help. It’s gathered experts from across the community to help you understand how to best help your kid navigate the digital world. The No Filter! A community social media forum will include speakers, question and answer and breakout sessions. It’s not about screen time or video games. It will try to answer your serious questions about what’s happening online. What is OK and what’s not legal to send? What do you do if your teen is receiving images they don’t want? Can your kids copy and post other people’s pictures? What happens to all of the pics your kids are sending to each other? Did you know that kids are losing scholarships, college degrees and jobs because of social media? Are you seeing changes in your teen’s mood because of social media? It’s Wednesday, April 10th from 6-8pm at Deep Run High School. Our own Morgan Dean will be serving as the emcee. You can read more about the speakers and topics here. The event is free, but you are encouraged to register.
