RPD’s Mounted Unit’s new horse ‘Aslan’ celebrates birthday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police are wishing a Happy Birthday to one of their newest – and youngest – member on the task force!

He replaced a horse named Rio, who retired in December.

8News spoke with Amanda Acuff, of RPD’s Mounted Unit, back in February and she said of Aslan: “He’s an interesting character.”

“He’s kind of in his teenage years so he wants to do things his way but he does listen and he’s very trusting of us,” Acuff said. 

For his birthday, Aslan got to enjoy some cake along with the other horses.
