RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Virginia State Police trooper is being hailed a hero after saving a Richmond officer who was exposed to drugs while making an arrest.

Trooper A.T. Stuart was at the Richmond City Justice Center when he noticed one of their officers turn pale and was having trouble breathing.

Stuart suspected the officer had been exposed to a narcotic while making a drug arrest. He then quickly used NARCAN on the officer, ultimately saving his life.

The officer was checked out at a hospital and sent home.

“Thank you, Trooper Stuart, for your quick and heroic action!” the Richmond Police Department said on social media.
