RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Riverfront Canal Cruises is kicking off their 20th season on Friday, April 5.
The 40-minute tours on covered, flat-bottomed boats feature historic narrative of the James River and Kanawha Canal.
Visitors learn about centuries of Richmond’s history while seeing the unique Triple Crossing railroads, tobacco warehouses that have been converted into trendy lofts, the Virginia Capital Trail, the Low Line gardens and James River wildlife.
The boat tours operate seven days a week from May through September, with varying hours in April,
October and November. Tours depart on the hour from the canal’s Turning Basin at 139 Virginia Street, in downtown Richmond.
Tickets are sold on-site at the canal boat kiosk and online at VentureRichmond.com. All boats are handicap accessible.
