Science Museum of Virginia appeals to adults on Thursday nights

RICHMOND, Va. - The Science Museum of Virginia, which explores the limits of the cosmos at its Dome theater, is also trying to broaden its own horizons.

On June 14, SMVA kicks of an adults-only event series on Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. called Science On Tap.

Science On Tap begins with "Animals Unleashed", with includes a R-rated take on the museum's BODY WORLDS: ANIMAL INSIDE OUT! exhibit. You'll see a lecturer explaining animal mating behaviors, a sheep heart dissection, and uncover animals in space.

If you prefer more passive entertainment, catch a screening of Snakes On A Plane in the Dome theater, complete with salty, adult language from the ever-annoyed Samuel L. Jackson.

Guests are also invited roam museum exhibits as they like without youngsters underfoot. Food, craft beers and signature cocktails will be on sale.

Admission to Science On Tap is restricted to adults 21 and over.

Admission is $10. $5 more to see Snakes on a Plane.
