VA War Memorial celebrates victory in the Pacific

The Virginia War Memorial commemorates the 73rd anniversary of the end of World War II in the Pacific Theater with a special one-hour program this Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Twelve veterans who served in the Pacific during WWII have been invited to attend.

Keynote speaker is Christopher Kolakowski, Director of the MacArthur Memorial in Norfolk. Special guest is Commodore Aguillar from the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, D.C.  A reception will follow the program, which is free and open to the public.

The Memorial is located at 621 South Belvidere St. in Richmond.
