Entertainment

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Lou Ferrigno is not only an iconic actor, but he also serves as a volunteer deputy for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office in California.

The original “Incredible Hulk” told 8News that he goes out with rescue crews in helicopters to find people who are trapped or lost in wildfires.

“We patrol the whole area — 500 square miles — because I’m trained to do that … and you never what can happen,” Ferrigno said.

You can catch Ferrigno’s full interview with 8News Meteorologist Matt DiNardo in the video featured above.

Ferrigno will also be at pop culture festival GalaxyCon Richmond which is taking from May 31 – June 2 at the Richmond Convention Center.
