RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Two boys recently celebrated their ninth birthdays, but instead of asking for toys, they wanted to help animals in need.

Hatcher and Sam asked for donations to help homeless pets. The Richmond SPCA says this has been a tradition for the boys.

They also set up a lemonade stand to raise additional funds.“Please join us in thanking these exceptional kids for setting such a great example of compassion and generosity,” the Richmond SPCA said in a Facebook post.
