Adnan Syed’s attorneys to take case to Supreme Court

BALTIMORE, Md. (WRIC) — The Maryland Court of Appeals denied a new trial for Adnan Syed of “Serial” podcast.

Syed’s attorneys are planning to petition to the Supreme Court about his murder conviction.

In 1999, Syed was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. He was sentenced to life in prison on murder and kidnapping charges.

The case made headlines when it was featured in the first season of “Serial.”

On March 8, Maryland’s Court of appeals denied a new trial for him. It was a 4:3 decision.

Syed’s attorney tweeted in response to the court’s decision.
