(WRIC) — Jerry Stiller, known for his work in “King of Queens” and “Seinfeld,” died of natural causes at the age of 92, his son announced on Twitter.

Stiller starred as George Costanza’s father Frank on “Seinfeld.” He also played Doug Heffernan’s father Arthur Spooner on “King of Queens.”

Stiller was married to Anne Meara for about 62 years, before she died in 2015. He served in World War 2 in the U.S. Army.

Stiller earned a drama degree at Syracuse University after serving in World War II, and then headed to New York City to launch his career. There was a brief involvement in Shakespearean theater, including a $55 a week job with Jack Klugman in “Coriolanus.”

Stiller is survived by his two children, Ben and Amy, and two grandchildren.
