CHESTERFIELD, Va. — One person was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-295 this morning in Chesterfield.
Virginia State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Dylan Davenport told 8News on the scene that the call came in around 4:43 a.m. for a Toyota sedan traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-295. Shortly after, VSP received a call for a crash.
Sgt. Davenport said the Toyota sedan traveling north in the southbound lanes hit a Volkswagen minivan in the center lane. The driver of the sedan died at the scene. The driver of the minivan is in the hospital with injuries.
VSP said both drivers were wearing seatbelts. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
