LEWISBURG, WV – Firefighters were called to battle flames at Lewisburg Manor, a senior living apartment complex on Thursday.
According to Lewisburg Fire Chief Joseph Thomas, the fire started around 7 p.m. and was on the third floor of the 102 room complex but it has been contained.
Chief Thomas said several injuries were reported and the victims are being transported to area hospitals. Four people have been hurt but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
According to Chief Thomas, everyone living in the complex has to be moved due to safety precautions. An emergency shelter at the Rhema Christian Center was set up.
First responders are advising people to pick up their loved ones if possible.
