Buskey Cider hosting #804Day event Thursday to celebrate Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Today is August 4, or 8/04, and Buskey Cider in Scott’s Addition is hosting an #804Day event to celebrate Greater Richmond.

It’s happening from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.

“Different cities around the U.S. have days based on their area codes to celebrate, so it’s a great way for us to give a platform to Richmond,” said Elle Street, communications director for Buskey Cider.

Boulevard Burger & Brew will be selling sliders at the event and Ellwood Thompson’s is helping Buskey create limited-release Randall’d cider using their local produce.

“A Randall is a filter where we put fruit inside and then you can run the cider through it and it gives it a nice flavor,” Street said.

Also, 10 percent of cider sales will go to HandsOn Greater Richmond.

“They provide volunteers to a bunch of different community projects around Richmond and even into Goochland and surrounding areas, so we really thought that they were the perfect non-profit to partner with for #804Day,” Street said.

Not in the mood for food or drinks? MomsVA is setting up a puppy kissing booth to collect donations.

It’s all happening at Buskey Cider, located at 2910 W Leigh Street.
