Car discovered in Chesterfield County pond; driver found safe


CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Chesterfield County Police responded to a call about a vehicle in a pond Sunday morning.

When they arrived on the scene in the 3800 block of Curtis Street police said they found a car, but no driver.

Police said it looks like the driver lost control of the car, but they could not find anyone in the water.

After checking the vehicle owner’s address, police found the driver, who had walked home after the accident and had only suffered minor injuries.

Initial reports said that the accident happened sometime Sunday morning between 1 – 4 a.m., but police didn’t hear about it until 10:30 a.m.
