Chesterfield police need assistance with Valentine’s Day homicide case

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police are still searching for information after a Chesterfield man was found dead outside of his house on Valentine’s Day. 

At about 10:44 p.m. on Feb. 14, Chesterfield County Police responded to the 7600 block of Drexelbrook Road and found Dwayne U. Swann, 53, dead from an apparent gunshot wound. 

Officers stayed on scene for more than 12 hours in a search for evidence. 

Neighbors told 8News that police had knocked on their doors, asking if they noticed anything suspicious on that night, or if they had surveillance cameras that could potentially show a suspect. Those neighbors described the area as peaceful.
