2 Richmond men arrested in Dollar General store burglary

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities say two men have been arrested in connection to a Dollar General store burglary in Richmond. 

According to Richmond Police, the crime happened at about 4:50 a.m. on May 29 at the Dollar General store in the 3900 block of Walmsley Boulevard. A Richmond Police sergeant saw two individuals approach the business, break the glass and enter the building. 

Additional officers responded and arrested Jamiyl A. Al-Malik, 49, of 4300 block of Chamberlayne Avenueand Tyrone W. Bolden, 43, of the 3400 block of Walmsley Boulevard. They both have been charged with burglary and grand larceny.  

Police say Al-Malik is a suspect in “numerous” commercial burglaries in Richmond’s Southside, including a burglary that happened at the same Dollar General store on May 19.  He has also been charged in connection to one commercial burglary in Chesterfield County.
