RICHMOND (WRIC) – Another Richmond monument has been vandalized, but this time not on Monument Avenue.

The A.P. Hill statue at the intersection of Laburnum and Hermitage in Richmond’s northside was vandalized with red paint overnight. Officers discovered the vandalism just after midnight.

City crews are assessing the damage and will either clean it themselves or hire a contractor, depending on the extent of the damage.

If the cost of the clean-up is greater than $1,000, the responsible party or parties could be charged with a felony.

At this point, no suspect information has been released.
