RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Richmond are investigating after a home and vehicle in Oregon Hill were struck by bullets late Thursday night.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Laurel Street at around 11:15 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

Neighbor Elijah Forsman recalled hearing the shots ring out.

“I was recording some music and all of a sudden you hear ‘pop, pop, pop,'” Forsman said.

He even stepped outside to see if anyone was hurt.

Forsman said this activity doesn’t happen in this community.

“It’s definitely unsettling, that’s unfortunate but keep moving,” he said.

When they arrived, one victim explained that a stray bullet came through the wall of his residence while he was inside.

A second victim told police their vehicle and porch were also struck by bullets. No individuals were injured in the shooting, police said.

8News spoke with residents on Friday who said they were shaken up over what happened. One neighbor showed 8News surveillance video from the scene that captured the moment shots were fired. The video, which 8News recorded on Friday, shows multiple people run after the shots are fired.
