A 33-year-old California man has been arrested after he was found with ‘substantial amounts’ of marijuana and other controlled substances at an area gas station.
At around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, officers with the Ashland Police Department responded to a gas station in the 800 block of England Street for a reported ‘suspicious situation.’
When officers arrived on the scene, they found Christopher Hamilton, of San Pablo, California, in his vehicle parked at the gas station.
During their investigation, officers recovered 18 pounds of marijuana, as well as ‘substantial amounts’ of other controlled substances, including heroin, opioid medications and methamphetamine. Police also found thousands of dollars in cash.
Hamilton was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substances and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was transported to Pamunkey Regional Jail without incident and held without bond.
