Charlottesville man charged with DUI after hitting multiple cars on I-64

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — A Charlottesville man has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with a multiple-car crash that left two people injured.

According to police, they received multiple reports of a wrong-way driver last night. Callers were reporting that a vehicle had hit multiple cars.

Authorities identified and charged 23-year-old Victor Sanchez of Charlottesville with DUI.

Two people, including Sanchez, were transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. 

The Albermarle County Police Department is investigating these crashes on I-64.

Additional charges are still pending against Sanchez. No other information has been released at this time.
