RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police has been dealing with thefts from motor vehicles, many of which are left unlocked.
RPD has started a campaign and a hashtag, #ComeOnRichmond, in order to educate Richmond residents on the dangers of leaving valuables inside cars.
Police say this week one victim has $7,000 worth of items stolen from their unlocked car in Westover Hills. Items included music equipment, sunglasses and Apple products.
“We don’t want this to be you,” Richmond Police said.”Please take a few minutes to lock your car and put your valuables out of plain sight.”
