HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Deputies in Hanover are searching for a suspect they say fraudulently used a credit card to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise.

Deputies say fraudulent charges totaling $300 were made on the victim’s credit card on July 21. The suspect then picked up the items at a Mechanicsville business the next day, deputies say, where surveillance footage captured an image of the suspect as he was leaving.

The suspect was seen wearing light colored shorts and a dark t-shirt, and leaving in a gray Nissan Rogue with New Jersey license plates.

Anyone with information about this incident, or who can identify this suspect, is asked to contact the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (804) 365-6140 or the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also download the “P3 Tips” app for their mobile devices to submit their tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
